US ADULT FIGURE SKATING CHAMPIONSHIPS

Hosted by Yarmouth Ice Club, this “Roaring 20th” event will feature 600 qualifying championship and non-qualifying competitors between the ages of 21 and 85 from the three sections of the East, Midwest and Pacific Coast. Programs include Singles and Pairs, Free Skate, Dancing and Dramatic Entertainment. Allevent passes are $45; daily passes are $15. Seniors 60+ are $12 per day. For the second year, agencies and businesses from all over the Cape will come together to offer an overview of what’s in store for family fun during the summer! EPOCH of Harwich hosts free blood pressure clinic (April 11) HARWICH—EPOCH Senior Healthcare of Harwich will offer free blood pressure screenings at the Harwich Council on Aging on Friday, April 11 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. EPOCH nursing staff will administer these free blood pressure tests and be available to answer your questions. Because high blood pressure increases the risk for heart disease, regular screenings are an important measure to protecting your heart health. Karen Kelley to perform at EPOCH of Harwich (April 18) HARWICH—EPOCH Senior Healthcare of Harwich will welcome pianist Karen Kelley for a performance on Friday, April 18 at 2:30 p.m. In between classic songs, Kelley discusses the background of the music and musicians she covers. MASSACHUSETTS BREAST CANCER COALITION’S ANNUAL AGAINST THE TIDE EVENTS IN TWO LOCATIONS--The Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition (MBCC) will be holding their annual, statewide Against the Tide swim, kayak, walk, or run fundraising events again in 2014. The morning events consist of several components: competitive and recreational swim, recreational kayak, recreational walk, and competitive and recreational run. Participants of all ages and abilities can choose 1, 2, or 3 of these exciting activities. The event also offers an Aquathlon “Splash and Dash” component, where participants “splash” in the competitive 1-mile swim and immediately “dash” in the competitive 5K or 10K run (chosen by the participant). The Statewide Metro-Boston Against the Tide will be held for the 22nd year in a row at DCR's Hopkinton State Park on Saturday, June 21st. The Cape Cod Against the Tide will be held for the 15th year DCR's Nickerson State Park onSaturday, August 16th. Both statewide events start at 7:00am and end at12:00 noon. The Sandwich - Bourne Lions club will be holding rabies clinics for cats & dogs  in the month of April at the following locations-- At the Bourne Fire Station on Saturdays, April 5 & 19 from 9 am - noon.  Cost is $12.00 per animal: Dr. William Fall, veterinarian  At the Pocasset Free station on Saturday, April 5 from 1 pm - 3 pm, Dr. Fall And on Saturday, April 19th, a rabies clinic will be held at the East Sandwich Fire  Station on Rte. 6A at these specific times:  Cats: 1 - 2 pm; Dogs: 2 - 3 pm. $12.0 per animal; Dr. Wanda Sisum, veterinarian
